we are here to tell the world how great is our GOD. Let them see that there is no one like YOU... Jesus!

GERTRUDE WILL DO IT

Gertrude is the person who is always willing to do anything for anybody. Therefore, everyone calls her for the least little thing, day or night, and every person's burdens are hers to bear. No matter what is needed, "Gertrude will do it!"

Everyone knows someone like Gertrude, and unfortunately, has probably taken advantage of her.

The problem is that Gertrude often lies awake exhausted, discouraged about her own life. Her own goals never seem to be met. Her personal relationship with the Lord seems to be going nowhere, and she feels like there's no focus to her spiritual walk.

If you are a "Gertrude," how can you turn people down? How can you say "no" without feeling guilty? There is an important biblical principle; just because a need is there doesn't necessarily mean God has called you to fill it! As Jesus told Martha, the most important thing is to sit at His feet and learn of Him, and He'll regulate your schedule. He also points out that the time to get to know Him is short and, "...the poor you have with you always, but Me you do not have always...Seek the LORD while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near" (John 12:8 and Isaiah 55:6, NKJV).

The next time someone calls, look to the Lord before you leap to their rescue. He may give you new priorities which will help you sleep much better at night...
